QUEENER, THOMAS M. - age 81, of Jacksboro, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 1, 2002 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He was a member and Deacon of Cumberland View Baptist Church and was a Staff Sgt. of World War II. Tom was a member of The CCC Camp and also played baseball for them. He retired from LaFollette Utilities with 32 years service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Tom and Gladys enjoyed fishing together and Tom enjoyed hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Laura Queener of Jacksboro. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gladys McGhee Queener of Jacksboro daughters and son-in-law, Nancy and Ken Starrett of LaFollette and Kathy Wilson of Jacksboro sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Debbie Queener, Bill and Sharon Queener, all of Jacksboro sisters, Alma Brewer, Mary Ellen Cain and Glenna Lay, all of Jacksboro one granddaughter and five grandsons and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 3, 2002 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson, Rev. Bill Hutson and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2002 in Jacksboro Cemetery with The Campbell County Honor Guard in charge of graveside services. Martin Wilson Funeral Home of LaFollette in charge of arrangements.
