Myles William Koranda, born August 21, 1926, son of Bozena (Bessie) Stupka and William J. Koranda in Berrien, Michigan. Myles served in WWII as a lineman with the 32nd Infantry Division and the 5th Air Corps in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. After serving, Myles met the love of his life Helen Hayes, in Chicago. Myles and Helen married 1948 in Michigan but took root in the heart of Chicago. They later moved to the small town of Park Forest. Myles is survived by his son Jeffery (Laura) Koranda; a daughter Pamela (Gary) Wharton; several grandchildren, Misty, Chris, Scott, Elizabeth and Sarah Smith; also many extended relatives and friends.

Myles William Koranda, age 79, of Park Forest, passed away June 6th. He is survived by his loving children Jeff (Laura) Koranda and Pam (Gary) Wharton. He was the proud grandfather of Misty, Christopher, Scott, Elizabeth and Sarah Smith and cousin Millie Erickson. His beloved wide Helen (nee Hayes) preceded him in death. Myles was a veteran of WWII. Visitation will be Friday, June 9th from 10 am until the time of his funeral service beginning at 12:00pm at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Westwood Drive, Park Forest.
