Illness Fatal
Elson Heichel Taken by Death at Home; Rites Thursday.
Elson Heichel, 69, died early today at his home, 41 Chestnut street, after
a brief illness.
Born in Ashland county, Mr. Heichel came to Mansfield at an early age, having
resided here since that time. He was employed at the Tappen Stove Company for
the past 49 years. He had been a member of the First Lutheran church for the pat
40 years.
His survivors include his window, Catherine; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Mowery, of
Canton; one granddaughter, Mrs. Richard Darling, Mansfield; six brothers, A.G.
Heichel and Ray Heichel, of Crestline, and Joseph Heichel, of Washington; one
sister, Mrs. Nora Barr, of Mifflin; four half-brothers William, James, and
Harry Heichel of Mansfield, and Elmer Heichel of Kentucky, and one half-sister,
Mrs. Clifford Wharton of Mansfield.
The body was taken to the Wappner Funeral home, where services will be held at
1:30 P.M. Thursday with Rev. G.E. Swoyer in charge. Burial will be in Mansfield
Cemetery.
